3D Makeup

During The Val Garland School of Makeup we were given a runway brief.  I chose to create a look for Vivienne Westwood and it needed to be really special.  The only information we were given was… “Politicians R Criminals” and that the collection was for Vivienne’s Red Label SS16.  I started with a crazy amount of research on Vivienne and her brand.  I read 3 books on the Dame and listened to a thirteen hour audio book on her life.  To put it simply… Vivienne is a bad ass and is responsible for the punk rock aesthetic in the 1970’s!!! She is an environmental advocate and her design aesthetic has a nod to ironic politics.  Val Garland, makeup extraordinaire, creates amazing faces that compliment Vivienne’s collections.  Keeping all of that in mind… I had to treat this brief with the utmost respect and really do my homework.

Graphic MAKEUP Just Got Easier

I did a show a while back where I keyed the makeup team. The crazy perfectionist that I am, led me to this technique I’m about to show you. I wanted strong lines, but our team didn’t have the time to perfect each look. I tried finding eyeliner stickers, but none were the shape I wanted. I found this really awesome die cut machine used for scrapbooking and created the graphic makeup effect on a face in photoshop. I then dragged it into the die cut machine’s software, made a mirror image so I had the graphic effect for both eyes. I used an adhesive vinyl paper and printed/cut pages of identical liner effects for the entire team.

TRIBEZA Style Show 2015

PROPAGANDA HAIR GROUP was honored to be the hair and makeup backstage sponsor for the TRIBEZA Style Show 2015.  We view this yearly event as an opportunity to work together with the community and deviate from behind the chair, to backstage.  “We are fortunate to have so many talented artists of whom we work with on a daily basis; making an event like this possible.  We closed the doors at PROPAGANDA on October 1st to devote our time to team building and model prep prior to the show”, Sara, owner of PROPAGANDA HAIR GROUP says.
